After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from Deakin University in 1988, Frank Macchia established a design, construction, and development business with a fellow graduate in Melbourne. While this was an unusual path (as most architectural graduates seek employment with other architects) Frank is grateful for the invaluable experience of these earlier years…

“Experiencing the role of designer, builder and client has given me a greater understanding and empathy for each party. One of my primary aims with all of my projects is to form strong, team orientated relationships between the client, the construction team and myself, as this ensures a more efficient process.”

Frank and his family left Melbourne and moved to Noosa in 1997 where he established his own practice.

Frank is currently working on projects on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney & Saudi Arabia and thrives on the challenge of working in different regions.

“It has become increasingly easier to design remotely…technology has allowed the process to be as if you were ‘local’, with the use of google earth, skype, clouds, sunseeker, video sharing etc.”

While Frank’s main body of work and his passion is for residential architecture, he is also keen to develop his portfolio of work to include further health centres, apartments, galleries, cafes, retail, and resorts.
